Sony Ericsson W200i disassembly

Sony Ericsson W200i disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver

First remove the battery cover, battery and memory card.

The front cover can be removed by unclipping it starting at the bottom of the phone.

Your phone will now look like below. Now remove the four screws you can see. Note that the black screws belong at the bottom of the phone and the silver screws belong at the top

The top part of the phone (PCB and LCD screen) can now be removed from the middle chassis. Just lift if out.

A metal frame surrounds the LCD screen. It's held on with clips around the edge of the PCB. Unclip and remove.

Lift the keypad part away from the phone. It'll be pretty loose and easily removed.

You can now remove the LCD screen. It's attached by a ribbon which slides in and out of it's connector. Take note of how it connects before removing it. Simply pull the screen back and it'll unplug. You can now replace the LCD. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
