Sony Ericsson Z750i disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws need to be removed. The two at the top are covered by rubber stoppers which can be levered out with your screwdriver.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. The memory card door will also come away. A ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. Next, pull the grey part, at the top of the phone, in the direction shown by the arrows.

Your phone should now look like below. Another ribbon connector needs to be detached (circled). Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug.

Once you have disconnected the ribbon in the previous stage, lift the part it is connected to away from the phone, as shown below. Now pull the housing in the direction shown by the arrow. This will release the circuit board.

Your phone should now look like below. Note that the volume button on the side of the phone will come out with the circuit board, as you can see below.

Pull the top and bottom parts of the phone away from each other. The parts will separate without force.

Turn the top half of the phone over. Starting it the point circled below, peel the sticker off.

Remove the two circled screws and then remove the sticker at the top of the screen.

Remove these two screws as well.

Run something like the edge of a credit card all the way around the join of the housing.

The cover half of the cover should now be removed, as shown below. You should also be able to lift the screen assembly away from the other half of the cover.

Your phone should now look like below.

Turn the phone over and remove the black part, as shown below. It is stuck down lightly with a small piece of double sided tape. Now lever the circled black part out with your fingernail. It just clips in and out.

The circled ribbon connector needs to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up and pull the small screen away from the phone.

You should now have the small LCD screen removed. The two circled connectors need to be detached. They attach like a plug and socket. Just lever each one up to unplug.

Now remove the black plastic part from the phone. It will come away with very little force. The circled ribbon connector needs to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up and pull the orange ribbon away from the circuit board.

Turn the phone over and the large LCD screen can be levered away from the phone (just slide your plastic tool under it). You now have both LCD screens removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, Philips size 0 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim, memory card and stylus.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the cover at the bottom of the phone.

Your phone should look like below. Remove the screw you now have access to then lift the part away that the screw was holding in place.

You should now have access to two more screws. Remove these screws.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the battery compartment, all the way round the phone.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the piece of tape (circled) giving you access to a plug and socket type connector. Slide the connector out.

Below is a close up of the connector once it has been disconnected. Remove the screw, top right of the phone

Now lift away the antenna. A connector (circled, top right) need to be detached. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. Clips around the edge of the phone hold the green circuit board in place. Pull these back a little to release the circuit board.

The circuit board will still be attached by a ribbon connector. Remove the orange tape then lever the connector away from the circuit board.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the four circled screws and you can lift away the keyboard part of the phone.

Your phone should now look like below. Four more screws need to be removed. Two screws will be covered with sticky rubber covers. Just peel these off.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the housing to split into into two halves.

Your phone should now look like below. Peel away as much of the silver foil as possible. This is not needed so don't worry about damaging it but be careful because the ribbons it is stuck to can tear.

With the foil removed your phone should look like below. Another ribbon connector needs to be released (circled). This attaches in a different way to the previous ones. Flick the black latch up and then pull the orange ribbon out.

You can now lift the set of ribbons away from the phone, as shown below. You can use double sided tape to hold these ribbons in place when you reassemble the phone. Peel back the four circled stickers and the LCD screen and digitizer (one part) will be loose.

You should now have the LCD screen & digitizer removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws need to be removed. The two at the top are covered by rubber stoppers which can be levered out with your screwdriver.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below.

Open the flip and remove two rubber stoppers above the screen to reveal two more screws. Remove these screws. The keypad and surrounding bezel can also now be removed with a little force.

You should now have the keypad and bezel removed allowing access to two more screws. Remove these screws.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the top cover to release it.

Your phone should now look like below.

Pull the display window in the direction shown by the arrow. A little force is required near the hinge.

Your phone should now look like below.

Turn the phone over. Four ribbon connectors need to be detached. Each one attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever them up to unplug.

Pull the frame which surrounds the small LCD screen to one side, as shown below. You can now lift the small screen away from the phone.

You should now have the small LCD screen removed.

Turn the phone over and the large LCD screen will also be loose. The ribbon from the large LCD will slide through from the other side of the phone when you remove it. You now have both LCD screens removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, Phillips size 0 screwdriver

Remove the battery, back cover, stylus and your memory card. Remove the two torx screws and one cross head screw.

You can now remove the camera surround by running your fingernail around the join.

With the camera surround removed you now have access to two more torx screws. Remove these.

You can now remove the front cover by running your fingernail around the join then lift from right to left as the front cover is still connected by a ribbon on the left side. If this disconnects it simply pushed back in like a plug and socket.

With the front cover detached you can now see the ribbon refered to in the above step (indicated by the screwdriver in the photo below).

Pull the LCD screen towards you and you'll see the ribbon connector which attaches the screen to the circuit board. It attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed and you can replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
