Samsung U900 Soul disassembly
Tools required: Phillips size 0 screwdriver

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card.

Remove the plastic sticker shown below. It should peel away easily. Now remove the five screws you can see.

The battery compartment should now be loose and can be removed.

Now detach the circled ribbon connector. It attaches like a plug and socket so simply lift it up, away from the phone, to unplug. The part indicated by the arrow will be lightly stuck down. Lift this up carefully.

Lift the circuit board from the bottom, as shown below. You'll notice it is still attached by another ribbon. This detaches like the previous ribbon.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the six black screws you see then pull the slide in the direction shown by the arrows in order to remove it.

Your phone should now look like below.

Push the slide up to reveal four more screws. Unscrew these.

Lift the metal part away from the body of the phone, like below. Slide the ribbon through the gap then completely detach the metal part you just unscrewed. It will be held in place quite tight at the top, where the camera is, so just wiggle it around until it releases.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the black tape indicated by the arrow.

You now need to disconnect the two circled ribbons. These are not connected in the same way as the others. The brown plastic part is a hinge and you need to flick this back to release the ribbon.

Your phone should now look like below, having disconnected the ribbons in the last stage. Lift the green circuit board in the direction of the arrow to release it.

Now use something like the edge of a credit card to lever the screen out. The LCD screen is lightly held in place around the edges by a tacky glue. Be careful when you do this so that you don't damage the LCD.

You should now have the LCD removed. If you are replacing the LCD screen, remove the ribbons attached to the back of the old LCD and reattach them to the new one. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Now remove the black part, shown below.

Tools required: Phillips size 0 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the four screws, circled below.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the battery compartment to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up and pull the ribbon out.

Now remove the circled screw and the one on the opposite side. Both screws will be covered with red stickers.

Lift the circuit board to the side slightly to reveal a ribbon attached to the underside. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

Your phone should now look like below. Pull the slider down to access four more screws (circled). Remove these. Now run your fingernail or your plastic tool around the join of the front cover. This will release the clips which hold it in place. The cover will still be attached near the top of the phone so don't try and force it off before reading the next stage of this guide.

The camera cover should now be loose. Remove the two screws you can see. You can now remove the front cover.

With the front cover removed your phone should now look like below. The navigation pad and the part that holds this in place will come away with the cover, as pictured below.

Pull the screen away from the rest of the phone. The circled connectors needs to be released. For each, flick the black latch up where the ribbon enters and pull the ribbon out.

Your phone should now look like below (but without a dotted line around the screen). You now need to separate the LCD and touch screen. To do so you need to slide something flat and thin (the edge of a guitar plectrum would be best) between the LCD and touch screen. Try to follow the dotted line and try not to push your plastic tool too far under the touch screen or you'll get a sticky residue on the underside of it. Applying some heat with a hair dryer may help loosen the touch screen.

You should now have the LCD screen and touch screen separated. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Now remove the four screws you can see.

Run something like a credit card or guitar plectrum around the join of the battery compartment to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. The four circled connectors need disconnecting. The connector bottom right, with the thin wire leading from it, needs to be levered off. It will come off without much force. Each of the other three connectors attach like a plug and socket. Simply lift them up to unplug them. You should also be able to see another screw holding the circuit board in place. Remove this.

You should now be able to remove the circuit board. There are various wires and ribbons in the way so you need to carefully move the circuit board around until it is loose and can be moved freely. You'll notice that a ribbon connector (circled), which attaches to the other side of the circuit board, has become unplugged. Remember to reconnect this when you put the phone back together. The camera, circled in red, is lightly stuck down and needs to be released. Just lift it up, noting that it is still attached by a ribbon, and it should come loose.

Now lift the grey part from right to left to remove it. A few clips around the edge of the phone hold it in place.

Your phone should now look like below.

Now use something like a credit card or guitar plectrum to lever the LCD from the point shown. Double side tape holds the screen in place lightly.

You should now have the LCD removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
