Well, believe it or not the average person has a good chance of diy fixing that digital stuff themselves. All they'll need for most cases is some patience, and a little background knowledge. The intent of the posts on this blog are to help provide that knowledge.

Sony Ericsson W660i disassembly

Sony Ericsson W660i disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver

Remove the back cover, battery and two screws you can see

Lift the aerial cover away from the phone. This requires a little force

Your phone will now be in two parts, like below. Remove the two screws you now have access to at the top of the phone

Now run your fingernail all the way round the edge of the front cover to release it

You've now removed the front cover. The circuit board, which the screen is attached to, is held in place by clips all the way round the edge of the phone's chassis. You need to try and unclip these and lift the circuit board away from the chassis at the same time

Lift the circuit board away from the phone and you'll be able to unclip the LCD frame (the black part) from the circuit board

The LCD screen is now released and can be replaced. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

Replace the LCD and reverse the whole procedure for reassembly
