Sony Ericsson K800i disassembly

Sony Ericsson K800i disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, Size 0 Phillips screwdriver
  • Remove the two screws at the bottom of the phone with the torx 6 screwdriver. Remove the other two screws with the Phillips screwdriver
Lift the antenna cover away from the phone. It unclips at the top of the phone and needs a little force to remove

Remove the two torx 6 screws at the top of the phone which are revealed after removing the antenna cover

Pull the front cover away at each side so that it releases

The phone will now be in two parts, as below

Wiggle and pull the keypad assembly up, away from the phone and it will pop off

The screen assembly is held on by two clips at each side of the phone, indicated below. Unclip them to remove the screen assembly

Unclip the ribbon which hold the screen assembly to the circuit board of the phone. It attaches like a plug and socket

Detach the retaining clips on each side of the screen assembly

Remove the faulty screen and replace with the new screen

Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly
