Nokia 6280 disassembly

Nokia 6280 disassembly

Tools required: Plastic shim such as a guitar plectrum or credit card

First remove the battery cover, battery, memory card and sim.

With the slide open, run a plastic shim like a guitar plectrum or credit card all the way around the edge of the front cover, allowing its removal.

Your phone will now look like below.

Lift the keypad part upwards. It will be held down with glue/double sided tape so you'll probably feel it peeling away

Now detach the ribbon which leads from the screen. It attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it upwards to unplug it.

The LCD screen is held in place by a metal frame which needs to be unclipped around its edge for removal.

Your phone will now look like below.

You can now lift away the LCD and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
