Well, believe it or not the average person has a good chance of diy fixing that digital stuff themselves. All they'll need for most cases is some patience, and a little background knowledge. The intent of the posts on this blog are to help provide that knowledge.

Nokia 1208 disassembly

Nokia 1208 disassembly
Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery and sim card.

  • Run something like a credit card around the join of the front cover to release it.
  • With the front cover removed your phone should look like below. Remove the six screws you can see then lift the main body of the phone from the housing.

    Your phone should now look like below. Two metal clips hold the LCD and frame to the circuit board. Pull these clips back to release the screen and frame.

    Turn the phone over and it should now look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up
    to unplug.

    Your phone should now look like below. Now simply push the LCD screen out from the other side.

    You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
